Austin PBS Kids Writers Contest 2020

This is the 25th anniversary of the Austin PBS KIDS Writers Contest (formerly known as the KLRU KIDS Writers Contest)! It is a local contest designed to promote the advancement of children’s reading skills through hands-on, active learning. Children from kindergarten through fifth grade are encouraged to write and illustrate stories and submit them to KLRU. All children who enter the contest have their story published on our website!

The contest begins January 1st and ends March 31st, so put your writing cap on and get your art supplies out. Submissions may be sent digitally or through the U.S. mail. Please remember:  do not to include the child’s last name or photo in the story [Last name initial is acceptable].
